Cytogenetic Technologist (Fairfax, VA)
The Genetics & IVF Institute, located in Fairfax, VA., is the world’s largest, fully integrated provider of specialized fertility and genetic services. The Diagnostics Laboratory of Genetics & IVF Institute is seeking an experienced cytogenetic technologist. Among the duties the candidate will perform are; culturing and harvesting peripheral blood samples, chromosome banding, microscopic analysis, FISH on blood specimens and blastomeres biopsied from IVF generated embryos.
Applicants must have a B.S. degree in biology, chemistry or an appropriately related scientific discipline. In addition, ASCP certification as a clinical laboratory specialist in Cytogenetics (CLSp(CG) is required. Experience in a cytogenetics laboratory using FISH techniques is necessary.
