PGD Laboratory

PGD Laboratory
The Preimplantation Genetic Diagnosis (PGD) Laboratory at the Genetics & IVF Institute was one of the first, and currently is one of the most experienced PGD Laboratories in the world. Founded in 1992 and performed its first clinical cycle in March 1993, the PGD laboratory has performed more than 3,000 PGD cycles for hundreds of patients at GIVF and other assisted reproductive technology (ART) centers around the United States.
The GIVF PGD Laboratory has published more than 40 peer reviewed articles detailing our work. Our laboratory was the first laboratory in the world to perform and achieve a pregnancy for an autosomal dominant disease (Marfan syndrome) and the first lab to achieve a pregnancy for spinal muscular atrophy (SMA). We continue to develop novel testing methodologies and actively participate in both the ESHRE (European Society of Human Reproduction & Embryology) PGD Consortium and the Preimplantation Genetic Diagnosis International Society. We are member of the College of American Pathologists (CAP) Workign Group on PGD.
